I am a fan of pale ales and have no issue chugging them down or just relaxing and enjoying one for a bit. So we have the Santa Fe Brewing Co's party box and this was the last on the list to try out. I warn you up front that this was probably their worst showing but still better than many of the beers we have tried. Here are the comments from around the tasting table:
- Smells very hoppy
- Smells like fireworks (this person could have been drunk already)
- Slight IPA smell
- No fruit type smell
- Taste kind of flat and not very hopy
- Crisp flavor
- Taste a bit like a Chang Beer (Thai Export)
- Kinda like an IPA (we repeat ourselves when we get towards the end of tasting)
So it's a light pale ale like one would expect. I was a little surprised when the numbers came in at the end though. So here are the numbers:
